History

Steve Mole Motorsport has the benefit of over 20 years’ experience in race car preparation.  Team owner, Steve Mole, has raced Minis and Sports 2000s with great success, not only in podium places, but with ‘Best Prepared Car’ trophies also.

1996 and 1997 saw Formula Firsts consistently in the top 5 places and in the Championship for Formula Opel.  New Zealander Steve Hayr was the outright winner of class ‘B’.

2000 started in spectacular style for the team with the first motor racing win of the new millennium by Andy Neate who kicked off the new year with a double win at Croft.  Continuing this year with Formula Opel and driver Mark Langfield, more podiums and a recent pole, win and a new lap record at Brands Hatch.

For 2001 Steve was the first team owner to order a new Ray chassis which proved to be extremely competitive.  Steve worked very closely with Bert Ray on the new car and had the privilege of Works Assistance, thereby being able to add any new improvements immediately.  Sadly Bert died towards the end of 2007, but the working relationship continues with his son, Gavin.
